Otaku

I am not a real otaku, yet. I enjoy watching anime and reading manga but there is still quite a leap towards conventions and cosplay. Plus a have a terrible memory when it comes to characters and great quotes :P .

It all started after I watched Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away). That film and Mononoke-Hime (Princess Mononoke) made me order the whole Studio Ghibli Collection on DVD. Afterwards I started watching different kinds of anime series and it has basically just gone downhill from there...

My collection of Studio Ghibli DVD's
My current collection of anime and manga.

Figures

I currently have five anime figures (and 3 more on the way).

Japanese

As all other fans of anime, I too have wanted to learn Japanese. Right now there is no way that it will be possible but maybe in the future where I have a more steady life. Ganbare!

I have however already picked up several Japanese phrases, but of course not even close to making me just a bit understandable. Still enough, however, for me to read "kawaii!" whenever I see "cute!" - it is a terrible burden I know :P .
